Saptari, March 8: United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) cadre who sustained bullet injuries two days ago in police firing has died in course of treatment at the Dharan – based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
The Front said that Birendra Mahato, 22, of Melath – 2 of Saptari, who was shot in the abdomen and admitted to ICU of the health institute, has died.
On Monday, three UDMF cadres were killed after clashes broke out between the UDMF and police at Gajendra Narayan Singh Industrial Corridor of Saptari.
The death toll in the police firing has climbed to four with Mahato's death. More than 12 of the injured are receiving treatment in Dharan.
